Vietnam called on Russia and Ukraine to return to dialogue and offered assistance in resolving the conflict. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV) Le Thi Thu Hangy.
“Vietnam calls on the parties concerned to resume dialogue and resolve disputed issues by peaceful means based on respect for the basic principles of international law, including the principle of respect for the independence, sovereignty, rights and territorial integrity of states,” the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.
According to her, Hanoi is ready to help resolve the conflict in order to stabilize the situation in the region and around the world.
In March, Malaysia and Vietnam opposed the imposition of economic sanctions against Russia. At the same time, Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yacob added that Kuala Lumpur and Hanoi do not support Moscow's aggression against a sovereign state, but their position is non-intervention.
